Laws

In Austria there are many different laws concerning sex work. Federal laws regulate compulsory health examinations. Other areas are within the responsibility of the provinces, which means that regulations vary from province to province.

Sex work in Tyrol is regulated by the Provincial Police Act (Landespolizeigesetz). Sex work outside officially approved brothels or permit zones (of which none exist) is illegal and punishable. Sex workers who work on the street or in their own premises (also hotels or Airbnbs) or make house calls are working illegally and have to expect high penalties.

This means that you are currently only allowed to work in a licensed brothel in Tyrol. There are currently 10 licensed establishments in Tyrol where you can work legally.
